1 in 100 Million

From statistic to icon: 100 million people, 1000% engagement lift, and first Olympic medal for Team Refugee

International Olympic Committee

Project Overview

The objective was to transform the paralyzing statistic of 100 million displaced people into a rallying cry for the Olympic Refugee Team at Paris ‘24. We reframed these athletes not as figures of pity, but as icons of extraordinary resilience, talent, and triumph.

We launched '1 in 100 Million' by unifying global supporters with the team’s first official emblem, an animated social film crafted by a Syrian refugee illustrator, and interactive Snap lenses. This culturally resonant strategy drove massive measurable impact.

The campaign generated 100 million impressions, fueled a 100% increase in search volume, and delivered a staggering 1,000% growth in team engagement between Tokyo and Paris. Crucially, this surge in support culminated in a history-making achievement: the team’s first-ever Olympic medal. We moved the needle from daunting scale to human resilience.
