Emotional engagement drives record sales for Hotel Chocolat.
Project Overview
Hotel Chocolat’s Velvetiser, a category pioneer, faced rapid duplication. Our brief was to solidify the brand’s identity against cheap competition while boosting sales. We chose to encapsulate the authentic joy of the Hotel Chocolat experience, abstracting the product into a narrative of “pourable chocolate happiness.” This concept was brought to life using progressive Gen AI and CGI, training models on real brand assets like the Rabot Estate cacao plantation.
This fusion delivered an immersive journey, focusing on anticipation and delight, rather than just features. The campaign secured prime placement via an exclusive ITV partnership. The measurable impact was significant: the TVC achieved a System1 emotional response score of 5.9, placing it in the top 0.3% of all advertising. Crucially, this is the most effective TV commercial ever created within the domestic appliance category, translating directly into a 67% increase in viewer purchase likelihood.
